In Community and Rural Development category, our grants have helped assist in serving Holiday City Senior Citizens to make necessary repairs to stay in their homes, training of first responders on interactions with individuals with intellectual disabilities, funding to help in the purchase of the first Mobile Emergency Response Kitchen of New Jersey, real life restaurant training skills for individuals with intellectual disabilities and providing equipment to several programs to help their residents and participants. These organizations include Homes for All, the Parents of Autistic Children of Ocean County, No Limits Café, Boy Scouts – Jersey Shore Council, Ocean Housing Alliance, Allaire Community Farm, MERK of New Jersey, and the Arc Ocean County Chapter.
Healthcare organizations which have received funding used our grand funds including: helping individuals with costs of emergency housing, food and transportation assistance of families whose loved one is dealing with cardiac related illness through Harboring Hearts, the renovation of two emergency hospital facilities, funding to a shelter that cares for senior dogs given up by owners and in need of care and funding for a van to aid in the transport of participants of the Shore Clubhouse. These organizations include Harboring Hearts, Marty’s Place Dog Sanctuary, Joan Dancy & pALS, Community Medical Center, Shore Clubhouse, RWJ Barnabas and Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation.
The grants awarded in the area of Arts and Education have helped support an organization that provides art classes and workshops free of charge, scholarships and expansions of Health and Science programs at the community college, and endowment funds and renovations of several schools. These organizations include the Guild for Creative Art, Ocean County Community College, Villanova University, Hovnanian School, and Ocean County Vocational Technical School.
